We received an email with a requirement for "large Ayres or Lines rocking horse, as early as possible, and preferably original"... there was really no alternative to this gorgeous boy. His purchase was arranged and he arrived in 2011.

Canterbury is an early extra carved rocking horse by Lines, dating to 1880-1890, and is an absolutely amazing presence in a room with his size and majestic expession. Most of his paint is original, just one area on his neck needed a little attention, and his stand is in exceptional original condition.

Another of Jackie Darnborough's wonderful restorations - thank you to Jackie for letting this stunning horse leave England.

His home is in rural South Australia, where he is the lord of the manor, presiding from a large window over a herd of live horses.
